Here's how you can bring the quest home...

Author Appearances

Seymour is well-known for his lively and entertaining lectures and he covers the fields of dream interpretation and Bible at one and the same time as he describes how the Bible both influences our personal spiritual life and enhances our ability to reflect God in the world. An author appearance is usually a one-time event, a thought-provoking evening, or a stimulating speak at a luncheon or gathering.

Book Fairs

Seymour is a veteran speaker at book fairs large and small. As the author of thirty books and the editor and publisher of many more, he has made the book fair rounds for more than thirty years. He speaks to adults, often to young people, and very often to families of old and young together. He always brings a practical message that helps people to build on the personal meanings of their dreams and helps parents to inculcate a strong love of dreaming and family sharing in their children.

Scholar-in-Residence Events

In synagogues and churches, in community centers and universities, Seymour builds a series of three, or sometimes four, workshops that move from simple description and burgeoning understanding to personal discussion and interpretations. He is no stranger to the scholar-in-residence format, having been scholar-in-residence for groups large and small since his first book appeared in 1972.

Author Luncheons

You can find Seymour doing author luncheons for groups as disparate as Hillel on the campus or Hadassah gatherings in private homes. Seymour is never worried about how many people join together to share a meal and a talk, he cares more about the depth of the sharing and the positive response that people can bring away -- and that is always enhanced by taking bread together.

Evening Programs

What could possibly be better than sharing an evening program about dreams and dreaming? It's a natural combination. Folks always go home eager to find new meanings in that "other world of reality" where image shape the way we think and act. Dreams open us to the deepest yearnings within and free us from many of the social strictures to allow us a special space in time. When we bring back the gifts of that other world to our normal, everyday lives, we have something special to share with one another. Seymour always focuses on the fabulous possibilities that allow us to grow through our dreams.

Adult Study Weekends

More informal than a scholar-in-residence program, Seymour plans adult study weekends in three or four sessions that entertain as much as they inform. Adults come away with new tools for interpreting their own dreams, sharing their dreams with others, and finding ways to elicit the dreams of others to make everyone's reality a little richer every day.

Weekend Retreats

To leave the "real world" for a setting that enhances our sensitivity is a way of bringing dreams into fine relief. In family gatherings at camps, in wilderness retreats, or even in the city for a whole weekend together, Seymour intertwines the world of dreams and Bible into a painting of reality that makes it clear to everyone from the beginning of the weekend to its end that the truth of our lives is that "every bush is burning."

Book Chats

Seymour is well-versed in the almost-lost art of the "book chat" that has enlivened libraries, bookstores, and cafes for years. A book chat usually includes some reading of parts of Bible Dreams: The Spiritual Quest and time for the always fascinating give and take of discussion. It's personal, intimate, and animated.

Guest Sermons

Well, after all he is a rabbi. Seymour has a wide-ranging variety of topics for guest sermons, many of them revolving around both Bible and dreams, often weaving in a little of Jewish magic and mysticism for good measure. You could say that a guest sermon by Seymour is a kind of dream come true.

What about cost?

The best way to calculate the cost is to contact Seymour directly. Don't be shy. Depending on the location and the time, the honorarium can range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. Travel expenses are additional, of course but, since Seymour is on the road week by week, he is often able to arrange for more than one locale to share expenses. Why not find out for yourself.
