Pathways
needs you. We turn to you as the sunflower turns to the sun.
Unfortunately, no amount of good intentions will accomplish good works.
Pathways needs your support. If you can spare a dollar, eighteen dollars,
or eighteen thousand dollars, we can make it a bit easier for all of us to
find the sun. If you care about Jewish teenagers, you can help. If you
ever were a Jewish teenager, that's another pretty good reason to help. |
Pathways Foundation
A Funding Partner of the Board of Jewish Education of Greater New
York, JeMM Productions (Jerusalem Multimedia Productions Ltd.), & the
Righteous Persons Foundation.
Our Mission
Pathways Foundation, Inc., was founded to provide advocacy for Jewish
teens and to consult on projects directed toward Jewish teens --
especially teens at risk.
|
Our Story
Pathways Foundation was founded in 1997
to advocate for Jewish teenagers within the Jewish community, create or
sponsor programs for families and youth grounded in Jewish values and
spirituality, and to network with professionals who deal specifically in
Jewish education for teens and their families.
Pathways seeks to regenerate Jewish
values and resources not only in the teens who are our primary target, but
throughout Jewish family systems.
Pathways
views its collaboration with JeMM as a bright example of its goal
to meet the current needs of American Jewish teenagers and their families.
In developing the Wisecrackers! Bar/Bat Mitzvah
CD-Rom it was entirely logical that we should meet teenagers
where they actually are -- in their homes, with their families, on line,
on their computers. We firmly believe that the JeMM project achieved this
goal and are therefore proud of our association with JeMM and of our two
funding partners, the Righteous Persons Foundation, and the Board of
Jewish Education of Greater New York.

What's Next?
Pathways is currently seeking funding
partners for our "Spiritual Curriculum Initiative."
You can read more about the initiative here on Rossel-on-the-Web.
Upon publication, the Spiritual Curriculum Initiative with is five
strategies will be offered to schools in all major Jewish religious
movements as a complement and supplement to more traditional
curricula.
Developing curricular materials is painstaking and costly. Especially
when dealing with a new vision, one which departs from the tried and true,
materials must be well-designed, easy to comprehend, and above all
enticing and attractive to teachers and administrators.
In addition, we hope to make the new curriculum a work that emanates
from working Jewish teachers and educators. To this end, we are making a
number of grants available for those who wish to experiment and develop
text study, experiential activities, and classroom discussion models.
For more information on grants presently available, please contact
Pathways Director, Seymour Rossel.
